Xplore Group optimizes iU web shop for Omnichannel

iU’s customers discover products in the stores, but also online. Products ordered in the web shop are shipped to the customer or can be picked up at one of the stores. Xplore Group optimized iU’s web shop to fully fit in with the company’s omnichannel strategy.

iU is a Multipharma subsidiary. The company offers para-pharmaceutical products in 22 stores in Belgium. The product range is based on four pillars: skin, vitality, bath & body, and baby. Since 2014 iU has a strong online presence, selling products and offering advice.


On the website, customers browse the product catalogue. They learn more about products and promotions, and can order online. Orders are home-delivered or picked up at one of the stores. Products can be returned at the stores as well.


iU’s ecommerce platform was developed in Magento. The system sends the online orders directly to SAP. Order statuses are synchronized in real time between the systems. Once the order is shipped – or available at the store the customer selected – an email is sent out.

Xplore Group optimized iU’s checkout process. The ecommerce platform is linked with Ogone. A store locator provides a geographic overview of store locations, allowing the customer to select the most convenient pick-up location. iU’s content managers run the web shop in an optimized Magento backend, updating images and content, and planning promotions.
