Robots

When you want to sell products to customers, it is essential to collect as much information as possible about these customers.

Gathering information is especially critical in the insurance industry, where the margin of profit depends entirely on how well the insurer is able to gauge each customer’s risk factor. Getting the right data, however, is often difficult, as people are reluctant to provide information to a sales person.

The insurance company found a solution in a robotic assistant called Pepper, manufactured by Aldebaran. Leveraging the capabilities of the Pepper robot and the power of the IBM Watson platform, Xplore Group developed an application that allows the robot to have an entertaining conversation with the customer, while at the same time gathering valuable information such as name, age and emotional behavior.
